The best Profound alternative for a Shopify or DTC brand depends on what you need after the visibility report. Nudge adds product-level tracking, catalog fixes and pages built for each arrival. Peec, AthenaHQ, Otterly, Scrunch, Goodie, Semrush and Ahrefs Brand Radar cover tracking at lower or published prices.

Why do brands look for a Profound alternative?

Profound is a strong product. It is built for enterprises and agencies that need to track how brands appear across AI answer engines.

Three reasons usually send a Shopify or ecommerce brand looking elsewhere. Fit is one: a DTC catalog needs SKU-level answers, not only brand-level share of voice. The second is what happens after the report. Tracking tells you where you are missing, but someone still has to fix product pages and build what shoppers land on.

If you want the head-to-head, read Nudge vs Profound. This article is the wider shortlist.

How we compared these tools

We looked at five things, in this order:

  1. Which AI engines it tracks.

  2. Whether it works at brand level, product level or both.

  3. What it does after the report: fixes, content, pages.

  4. Pricing as shown on the vendor's live pricing page, or "not public".

  5. One limitation for a Shopify brand.

Nudge is listed first because this is Nudge's blog. The other seven are listed in the order of how closely they fit a catalog-heavy DTC brand, and we have tried to describe each one fairly.

Sources for every row are in each section below.

1. Nudge: best for brands that want to be recommended and convert the visit

Nudge is an agentic commerce platform for consumer brands. It works in two moments: getting your products recommended in AI answers, then converting whoever arrives. Most tools on this list stop at the first moment.

Tracking. Nudge AI Visibility runs Answer Engine Insights across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode, shows which sources each answer cites, and tracks Product Mentions per prompt and platform. That means you see SKU-level results, not just brand-level share. Prompts are tagged branded or unbranded, so a high score on prompts that name your brand does not hide a gap on category questions. Agent Analytics classifies AI visits to your store by intent, down to the SKU.

Fixes and pages. Nudge Catalog Enrichment scores each product page on the criteria shopping agents use, structures catalog data for the ACP and UCP protocols, and pushes fixes to your storefront after one approval. Nudge Funnels builds a page for each kind of arrival: an adapted version of your existing page for organic traffic, a new landing page for each ad, and a version built for shoppers' AI agents. Each funnel is tested against your default page.

Nudge Catalog Enrichment showing which product fields an AI agent can read: schema, description, brand, SKU, GTIN and category

Pricing. Nudge pricing is based on the opportunities (funnels, content, catalog enrichment) you act on, with enterprise plans for larger catalogs and multi-brand groups.

Limitation. Nudge is built for brands that sell products online. If you are a B2B software company, or an agency tracking many unrelated clients, a general visibility tracker is a better fit.

2. Peec AI: best for clear, self-serve tracking

Peec is the most straightforward alternative here. Its pricing page shows Starter at $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro at $245 for 150 prompts, and Advanced at $495 for 350 prompts. Languages, competitors and team users are unlimited on every plan. All plans include AI shopping, source analytics, gap analysis, recommended actions and a crawlability audit.

Who it suits: a growth team that wants to track a defined set of prompts daily and keep the budget predictable.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. Tracking and recommendations are the product. The pricing page does not list a page builder or catalog-fixing tool, so your team does the product-page and landing-page work.

3. AthenaHQ: best for broad engine coverage

AthenaHQ's pricing page lists a free Essential plan that monitors five AI platforms, and a Starter plan at $295 a month that monitors 11 models, including Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. Starter includes unlimited topics, prompts and competitors, plus a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. Starter is single-language and single-region according to the comparison table, and multi-country monitoring sits in Enterprise, which is not public. A US and UK brand will likely need a quote. API access and extra credits are billed on top, also not public.

4. Otterly.AI: best for a low entry price

Otterly has the lowest published entry point. Its pricing page shows Lite at $29 a month for 15 prompts, Standard at $189 for 100 prompts, and Premium at $489 for 400 prompts, with a 15% discount for annual billing. Every paid plan tracks four engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot), with brand visibility and sentiment analysis, citation tracking and recommendations.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons, and extra prompts cost $99 a month per 100. Covering the engines your shoppers use adds up quickly on a large catalog.

5. Scrunch: best for persona-based prompts and page audits

Scrunch lists Starter at $300 a month (or $250 billed annually) with 350 custom prompts, three personas and five page audits. Growth is $500 a month (or $417 annually) with 700 custom prompts, five personas and ten page audits. All plans include agent traffic monitoring and a prompt manager. Enterprise is not public.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. Page audits are capped at 5 or 10 on the listed plans, which is small next to a 100+ SKU catalog. Growth and Enterprise require booking a demo.

6. Goodie: best for an action layer plus SKU-level tracking at the Pro tier

Goodie lists Core at $295 a month and Pro at $999 a month, with Enterprise custom. Core tracks 5 models and 110 prompts; Pro tracks 8 models and 250 prompts and adds SKU-level agentic commerce visibility. Plans include action credits and an AI agent, and full revenue attribution is listed under Enterprise.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. Goodie serves many industries, including travel, fintech and healthcare, so commerce is one focus among several. SKU-level visibility sits at the $999 tier. Annual rates are not shown.

7. Semrush AI Visibility: best if your team already uses Semrush

Semrush's AI Visibility plan is $99 a month per domain, billed annually, with 25 custom prompts tracked daily, brand mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, and a site audit for AI readiness. Enterprise is custom. A monthly-billing price is not public.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. 25 prompts is thin for a catalog with many product categories, and the page does not list a product-level view.

8. Ahrefs Brand Radar: best if your team already uses Ahrefs

Ahrefs Brand Radar sells Custom Prompts tracking from $50 a month, free on paid Ahrefs Lite plans and above, with a daily prompt quota per plan (5 prompts on Lite, 10 on Standard, 20 on Advanced). The AI Visibility Index, a pre-collected set of more than 525 million prompts, starts at $199 a month. Ahrefs also reports AI referral traffic and AI crawler visits in its analytics.

Limitation for a Shopify brand. It is a research and monitoring product. Nothing on the page covers fixing product pages or building landing pages.

Two questions settle most decisions. First, do you need product-level answers? If AI recommends your competitor's moisturizer and not yours, a brand-level score will not show it. Second, who does the work after the report? If your team has the capacity to rewrite product pages and build landers, a tracker is enough. If it does not, pick a platform that closes that gap. Nudge Funnels is built for that second case, and our guide on how funnels convert AI agent traffic shows what it looks like.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Profound alternative for Shopify brands?

It depends on the job. Nudge covers product-level visibility, catalog fixes and conversion pages in one platform. Peec and Otterly suit teams that want published prices and tracking only. AthenaHQ suits teams that want broad engine coverage.

Is there a free Profound alternative?

AthenaHQ lists a free Essential plan covering five AI platforms. Profound itself lists a free Trial with 50 prompts. Otterly and Scrunch offer trials: Scrunch lists a 7-day Starter trial with no credit card. Free tiers are limited in prompts, regions and history.

How much do Profound alternatives cost?

Published entry prices on November 3, 2026 range from $29 a month (Otterly Lite) to $295 a month (AthenaHQ Starter, Goodie Core). Profound Enterprise and Nudge pricing are not public. Most vendors price by prompts, engines and regions.

Is Profound good for ecommerce?

Profound lists ChatGPT Shopping on its Enterprise plan and tracks up to nine answer engines. It is strong for enterprises and agencies. A DTC brand that also needs catalog fixes and conversion pages should check whether its plan covers those, or pair it with other tools.

Do I need a visibility tracker and a landing page tool?

Not always. A tracker shows where AI mentions you. A separate tool is needed to fix product data and build pages for each arrival. Nudge combines both, so you do not need to stitch them together.
